Former Penn State CB AJ Harris Commits To Big Ten Foe

Former Penn State and Georgia cornerback A.J. Harris has committed to Indiana, becoming one of the headliners of the Hoosiers’ growing transfer portal haul for the 2026 season. Regarded as one of the top cornerbacks available in the portal, Harris brings experience and proven production after starting two seasons at Penn State.

Harris appeared in 26 career games as a starter for the Nittany Lions, earning All-Big Ten Third Team honors as a sophomore in 2024 from both the coaches and media.

A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Harris starred at Central High School and was one of the most coveted recruits in the 2023 class. He was rated a four-star prospect and a top-40 overall recruit nationally, ranking as the No. 3 cornerback in the class behind only Cormani McClain and Dezz Ricks. Harris was also listed as the No. 5 player in Alabama that cycle.

The 2025 season proved challenging, however. According to Pro Football Focus, Harris posted a 60.7 overall defensive grade and a 58.5 coverage grade, with opposing quarterbacks completing 22 of 24 passes thrown in his direction. Indiana will look to tap into his upside and experience as it reshapes its defense and help Harris regain his 2024 success.
