It may be time to officially cross Kalen DeBoer off the Penn State coaching candidate list. A list that continues to become thinner and thinner.
During his press conference leading into the SEC Championship Game, Alabama’s head coach shut down any speculation that he will leave.
“There’s never been any link, any conversation, any interest either way,” DeBoer said. “I’m glad we can put that to bed right now.”
DeBoer said that he and his family are happy at Alabama and is not exploring the job in State College.
Alabama is 10-2 and looks to beat Georgia for the second time this season. The Crimson Tide missed the 12-team College Football Playoff last season and have been on the brink of elimination for much of 2025, but have found a way to prevail.
Alabama is No. 9 in the county and currently slotted to make the CFP.
The rankings and two losses has put additional heat on DeBoer and Alabama, but appears they will make the field barring a chaotic SEC Championship Game and could become the first three-loss team in the playoffs.
The search continues for Penn State, who only signed two players during the first National Signing Day and remains a program with far more questions than answers.
