Penn State wrestling has added a commitment to its 2027 recruiting class.
Monday morning, Will Soto, who is the No. 4 wrestler in the country from the Class of 2027 at 106 pounds, announced that he had committed to Penn State.
Soto won state championships in his first two seasons, wresting for Newburg Free Academy in New York.
He’s also had success on the freestyle circuit, becoming a Pan American Games Gold Medalist and Fargo Champion.
Soto is trained by a guy many Penn State wrestling fans are familiar with, Khaled Dassan.
Dassan, who opened the KD Training Center in March 2022, trains current Penn State starters Rocco Welsh and PJ Duke, as well as 2026 signee Jayden James and 2027 commit Gavin Mangano.
“I am extremely blessed and excited to announce my commitment to Penn State University to continue my academic and athletic career,” Soto posted to Instagram.
“I want to thank my family for their endless love and support, my coaches and teammates for pushing me to be my best both on and off the mat, and allowing me to turn my dreams into a reality. I’m excited for the next Chapter. We are!”
