University Park, PA — At the end of the first half, Penn State senior running back Kaytron Allen surpassed Evan Royster’s career mark for rushing attempts, logging his 687th career carry to become the program’s all-time leader.

Royster had a distinguished career at Penn State, earning three All-Big Ten selections while playing from 2007 to 2010. He set school career records in both rushing attempts (686) and rushing yards (3,932), marks that stood for over a decade.

Among Royster’s many accomplishments, he became the first Penn State running back to record three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons (2008–2010) — a feat later matched by Saquon Barkley from 2015 to 2017. Royster was also named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2010, capping off one of the most consistent and productive careers in program history.
