Eli Drinkwitz is a name associated with the Penn State coaching search, and he commented on that Tuesday.
Nittany Sports Now reported Tuesday morning that the Missouri boss is a candidate for the Penn State job, and other outlets have spoke about the possibility of him succeeding James Franklin, who was fired Sunday.
This is all going on while Drinkwitz is leading Missouri through a season, and he talked about the outside noise during his Tuesday presser.
WHAT DRINKWITZ SAID
“I got problems of my own,” he said. “And I think the number one issue right now amongst college football is the noise that’s associated with people’s programs at all points of the season, whether good, bad or indifferent. There’s no such thing as journalistic integrity on social media. There’s just wild, outlandish reporting and anybody’s name, I’ll bet every sitting head coach has been listed as a candidate for some job so far.
“So how do I block it out? I ignore it, and I get mad about it when people ask me about it. As far as my name associated with everything, that’s awesome for the University of Missouri. It means we’re doing something really good. Means that our administration is committed to excellence. It means all the investment that the people here have been made has resulted in our success. And you know, yeah, that’s what I’d say. It’s a tip of the hat to the University of Missouri. Has nothing to do with me, has everything to do with the players and the support staff, and (team spokesman) Josh (Maxson) trying to cut off the questions. So he’s telling me quit rambling. But I would just say that, yeah, it’s a tip of the hat to the University of Missouri, but I would encourage all the fans and everybody else, it’s October 14…only thing that matters for us is 1-and-0 this week, and anything outside of that is a distraction that you shouldn’t even worry about. Don’t even let it cross your mind. Because, man, I have no idea. You lose three games a row, you may get fired, so I wouldn’t worry about it.”
BEAU KNOWS

Beau does not know for sure how the Penn State coaching search will turn out.
But, an undoubted plus to Drinkwitz coming to Penn State would be the very strong possibility that Beau Pribula would come with him.
Penn State fans know Pribula well, what with him being a quarterback for three years. Now, he’s Missouri’s starter, leading the team to a 5-1 start and No. 16 ranking.
Pribula has one more year of eligibility, and grew up as a Penn State fan from York, PA.
If Drinkwitz got the job, why wouldn’t Pribula come back?
No. 16 Missouri is at Auburn this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 on the ACC Network.
