When Alonzo Ford made his second quarter interception off of Florida International junior quarterback Keyone Jenkins, he joined fellow defensive tackle Zane Durant to match this feat that hadn’t been done since 1990.
Durant and Ford became the first pair of Nittany Lion defensive tackles since 1990 to record an interception.
The last two to do it was Frank Giannetti and Jim Deter.
Giannetti recorded his interception off of a Gary Hollingsworth pass against Alabama. It was one of five interceptions Penn State had on that day where the Nittany Lions handed the Crimson Tide their first shut out since 1955.
Deter had a critical interception against No. 1 Notre Dame that helped Penn State earn the 24-21 upset.
Last week, Durant recorded the first interception of the 2025 against Nevada returning the ball to the six-yard line.
