Pittsburgh– Penn State volleyball almost got upset Monday night at Kansas, falling behind two sets to one before winning a crazy fourth set and then closing it out in the fifth.
Six days later, the No. 2 team in the country again found itself down 2-1 and again played in a crazy fourth set.
But this time, Penn State lost the fourth set to No. 13 Arizona State and as a result, a 14-game win-streak is no more.
Penn State took a hard-fought first set, 25-21. Caroline Jurevicius led the way with five kills, and Emmi Sellman and Kennedy Martin each had four.
Arizona State fought back to take the second set, 25-23, with a long rally at 18-18 being the turning point.

Overall, Martin was Penn State’s top scorer at the break with 8.5 points.
After the break, Arizona State kept it going, winning the third set 25-20. A big reason Penn State fell behind was because of attack errors. Through three sets, Penn State had 17 attack errors to Arizona State’s 11.
Penn State ended up with 27 attack errors to Arizona State’s 18.
Martin was by far the star of the show for Penn State, ending with 23 kills.
But Arizona State’s Noemie Glover was even better, ending with 22 kills and 10 blocks.
Penn State doesn’t have long to lament. It takes on No. 25 TCU at PPG Paints Arena tomorrow at 5.
