Time will tell how well former Penn State QB Beau Pribula plays at his new home but his Missouri career is off to a booming start.
Pribula’s first pass of the season and his Mizzou career was a 51-yard TD to Marquis Johnson.
This was big for Beau, especially since he’s fighting for a starting job.
Pribula is battling with Sam Horn, and for now, both will play. Coach Eli Drinkwitz said before the opener against Central Arkansas that Pribula would play the first half, and Horn the second.
Pribula didn’t leave Penn State to be a backup, so passes like that will be a big help for him.
Horn got hurt on his first run of the game, leading to more playing time for Pribula.
Pribula later ran for a 31-yard score that put Missouri up by three touchdowns.
He ended the half by leading Missouri on a 99-yard scoring drive that ended with his second touchdown pass.
Pribula left the game after the third quarter, having gone 23-28 for 283 yards and three touchdowns passing, while rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.
He played three seasons in Happy Valley, with last year being his finest.
In first-year coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s offense, Pribula was used as a quarterback, running back and receiver.
He appeared in all 12 of Penn State’s regular-season games plus the Big Ten Championship against Oregon Saturday, Dec. 7.
Pribula will have two years of eligibility left wherever he decides to play. In his time at Penn State, he was became a fan favorite.
