Penn State Wrestling has added another Big 12 program to the schedule.
Unfortunately, it’s not the Big 12 program most fans would want to see, although it is a team with the same nickname.

A little more than a week after the announcement that Penn State would be taking on Oklahoma at Rec Hall, it’s not revealed that Penn State will be taking on Wyoming on the road Dec. 13.
This will be quite the haul for Cael Sanderson and company, and it’s a big coup for Wyoming, a relatively unheralded program which will now host the most dominant machine in any college sport. It’s only fair, since Wyoming came to Happy Valley last season to take on Penn State.
As is the case for any team Penn State faces, it didn’t go so well.
Penn State blanked Wyoming, 54-0, and frankly, this year’s dual meet probably won’t go much better for the Cowboys.
PSU is the odds on favorite to win its 13th national title in 15 seasons, only losing two starters from last year’s squad that became just the second in history to have all 10 starters become All-Americans.
One of its biggest challengers, Oklahoma State, is a team many would like to see Penn State go up against. For one, Oklahoma State is historically the most successful program of all time, with 34 national championships.
But the main thing that would excite people is the fact that David Taylor, maybe the greatest to ever come through the Penn State wrestling program, is now Oklahoma State’s boss.

But the Wyoming bout is happening.
“This year’s schedule will be challenging, but it should prepare us well for the NCAA Championships in Cleveland,” Wyoming coach Mark Branch said. “Hosting Penn State will be a great opportunity for the state of Wyoming, and our guys will get a chance to see the best team in the last decade in our home arena.”
Wyoming’s Arena-Auditorium seats 11,612, and it will hope to sell that out.
Penn State now has three non-conference dual meets set. It opens the season against Oklahoma Nov. 14 and is at Drexel Dec. 5.
None of the dates have been announced for the Big Ten dual meets yet but the opponents and locations are known.
