Beaver Stadium, which has been the home of Penn State football since 1960, is… almost the best in the country per a pair of national columnists.
USA Today’s Paul Myerberg and Blake Toppmeyer ranked Penn State’s home No. 2 on their list of top 25 college football stadiums.
Only “Death Valley”— AKA LSU’s Tiger Stadium— ranked ahead.
WHAT THEY SAID

Jarrod Prugar – NSN
Here’s what the article said about Beaver Stadium.
“Few sights are more intimidating to visitors than Penn State’s annual “White Out” games, when fans dress up in white tops to provide visitors with an unsettling, eye-popping backdrop. Combined with the deafening roar provided by 100,000-plus fans, this makes Beaver Stadium one of the elite settings in the FBS.”
As for Tiger Stadium, it’s No. 1 because of the fans above all else.
“Former Arkansas running back and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist Darren McFadden once said of Death Valley: “The fans are relentless.” That’s especially true for night games, when “the sun has found its home in the western sky,” as the public address announcer says inside Tiger Stadium. After LSU fans spend the day sucking down hooch, they’re in no mood to take prisoners.”
NEW AND (HOPEFULLY) IMPROVED

Beaver Stadium will look a lot different this season than it did in year’s past and will look even more different in 2026 and 2027.
By 2027, Penn State’s $700 million+ dollar revitalization project will be complete.
A storyline this offseason has been the progress of the West Side Stands, which is almost complete.
Penn State opens its 2025 season at Beaver Stadium Aug. 30 against Nevada. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 on CBS.
