One of Penn Stateโs top recruits in the Class of 2026 will no longer join the Nittany Lions one year from now. Instead, heโs in Happy Valley preparing for the 2025 season.
Edge rusher Daniel Jennings has reclassified to the Class of 2025 and will officially enroll at Penn State this year. PSU officially announced his signing on Tuesday. Steve Wiltfong of On3 learned that Jennings could reclassify last week.ย
A 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive lineman from Princeton, West Virginia, Jennings was a four-star recruit out of Princeton High School.ย
Jennings is the No. 1 player in West Virginia and earned a 91 overall rating from 247Sports in his recruiting process. He officially committed to Penn State on July 31, 2024.
A former two-sport athlete (football and basketball) in high school, Jennings was scheduled to make an official visit to Penn State on May 30. Now he is signed and enrolled to take part in camp and contribute.
He came to PSU on an unofficial visit on April 13 last year before attending summer camp on June 2. Jennings visited West Virginia camp the next day, but ultimately chose Penn State.
Jennings also earned offers from Illinois and UNLV. Penn State lost edge rusher Abdul Carter to the 2025 NFL Draft and depth on the defensive line after last seasonโs run to the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Penn State hosts Nevada on August 30 at Beaver Stadium to begin the 2025 season.
