A second former Penn State player has been selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and his name is Tyler Warren.

Not long after Abdul Carter went to the Giants with the third overall pick, Warren is now off the board, going to the Colts.

That Warren went in the first round wasnโ€™t a surprise.

That he ended up being the second tight end taken was.

Many expected Warren to be the first tight end off the board but that honor instead went to Michiganโ€™s Colston Loveland, who went to the Bears at No. 10.

Warren also wasnโ€™t the first Tyler taken in the draft.

That was Alabama guard Tyler Booker, who went to the Cowboys at 12.

America has known that Tyler Warren for be a high draft pick for months. In 2024, he turned in one of the greatest seasons by any Penn State player ever.

Warren set Penn State tight end records for single-season receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,233) and also broke an overall Penn State record with 19 career receiving touchdowns. Warren finished his Penn State career with 153 catches for 1,839 yards and showcased his versatility with 224 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in 56 games, defying the odds as a three-star recruit. Warren finished seventh in the 2024 Heisman voting.

Schultz called Warren a potential top 10 pick, and NFL teams view Warren as โ€œone of the cleanest prospects.โ€

Official visits can include an additional โ€˜get to knowโ€™ period, a private workout, film study, and more about a player before the draft begins on Thursday, April 24.

Schultz is reporting that Warren has already conducted multiple private workouts and spoke with one team that canceled its visit with Warren at the last minute. โ€œWhat are we really getting out of this? Weโ€™ve seen enough on him,โ€ the team told Schultz.

โ€œHe checks every box โ€“ character, toughness, intelligence, and heโ€™s just scratching the surface athletically. Thereโ€™s not much to overthink,โ€ one executive told Schultz.

Now, Warren will have a chance to prove himself on Sundays.
