As a team, Penn State led despite struggling to do much of anything from 3-point land, going just 1-for-8. But Penn State did share the ball well, assisting on nine of its 10 made field goals.

It was 6-foot-8 forward Zach Hicks, not Ace Baldwin, who led the way in distribution with three assists.

The second half was all Penn State.

By the third media timeout, the team had built a double digit lead. Minnesota hung in and was down by a manageable nine with four and a half minutes to go. By the time there was 1:44 left, Penn State’s lead was down to just three.

Baldwin hit two clutch free throws on the next possession to push the lead back to two possessions. From there, Penn State held on.

Penn State’s next opponent is Indiana Wednesday night in Bloomington. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30.
