A Penn State defender will enter the transfer portal.
Sunday afternoon, not long after Penn State landed a familiar face in King Mack, Cam Miller was reported to be on the verge of entering the portal by Blue-White Illustrated.
This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, but Miller was a key contributor to Penn State’s secondary this season.
He started four games for Penn State and played 416 snaps per Pro Football Focus, good for fifth among Penn State’s defensive backs. Miller is known for his blitzing ability. Although he only has one sack in 2024, he had three in 2023, which was good for second in the nation amongst cornerbacks.
RETURN OF THE MACK

Penn State defensive backs Zion Tracy, King Mack, and Elliot Washington II sing the Penn State Alma Mater.
A potential big reason that Miller is in the portal is, ironically, not a current teammate but a former one.
Penn State football’s latest transfer portal addition is a guy that fans should know.
On Sunday, King Mack announced that he’s returning to Penn State.
Mack started his college career at Penn State as a true freshman in 2023.
In what looks to be his lone season at Alabama, Mack played in nine games on defense, totaling 106 snaps. 38 of those snaps came in the team’s loss at Tennessee Oct. 19.Aside from that, his season-high was just 19, which took place Week 1 in a 63-0 squeaker over Western Kentucky.
So it’s fair to wonder if leaving Penn State was the right choice for Mack. but regardless, he’s back now. And Miller is moving on.
IN OTHER DB NEWS…

Sunday has turned into a pretty busy day in Penn State defensive backs news.
Early Sunday afternoon, a defensive back by the name of Jalen Kimberannounced that he’s played his last college game.
Kimber only played one season at Penn State but played five in college football overall.
He started his career at the University of Georgia, where he played from 2020-21. He then transferred but stayed in the same conference, going to the University of Florida where he played the next two seasons. After last season, Kimber transferred to the University of Louisville but never ended up playing a game, switching his transfer to Penn State by the middle of January.
