The train kept on rolling for Penn State on Friday evening with a 35-3 victory on the road at Rutgers to improve to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten.
The Nittany Lions picked up four technical falls and five decisions on the night to complete the victory.
The most impressive bout for Penn State went to Josh Barr at 197 pounds. Barr, who was tied 0-0 after two periods with the Scarlet Knights’ John Poznanski, recorded seven takedowns in the third period to get a 22-6 technical fall in 6:19.
Also getting tech falls in the third period were Shayne Van Ness (149), Mitchell Mesenbrink (165), and Carter Starocci (184).
Braeden Davis (133), Beau Bartlett (141), Tyler Kasak (157), Levi Haines (174), and Greg Kerkvliet (285) all picked up decisions for the Nittany Lions.
At 125, Luke Lilledahl was handed his first loss in collegiate action in a 4-1 setback to Rutgers’ Dean Peterson.
Penn State will have its biggest dual meet of the season next Friday night with No. 2 Iowa inside the Bryce Jordan Center at 7 p.m. The match will again be televised on the Big Ten Network.
