Fort Lauderdale, Florida— Penn State is playing football past the first week of January for the first time ever, and only Notre Dame stands in the way of PSU and a national title game appearance.
That’s not to say that Notre Dame will be an easy out.
Far from it, in fact.
The Irish have won 12 games in a row and, if not for an inexplicable loss at home to Northern Illinois, it would have finished the regular season undefeated.
But in any case, Notre Dame has made it this far, as has Penn State. Here’s some betting and watching information.
PENN STATE IS THE UNDERDOG

For the third time this season, Penn State is the underdog. Notre Dame is favored by 1.5-points. The first two times Penn State was the underdog, it lost to Ohio State and Oregon, respectively. Penn State hasn’t won as an underdog since 2021, when it upset Wisconsin Week 1. But the reason the program has been as successful as it has in that time span is because it never loses as the favorite. Since the start of the 2022 season, Penn State is 35-1 when favored with the only loss being against Ole Miss in last season’s Peach Bowl, where practically half the team was either opted out or playing on a snap count.
