The Atlanta Hawks have waived a former Penn State basketball star.
Monday night, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype announced via X that Atlanta would waive Seth Lundy.

Scotto further reported that, before a preseason game, Lundy had reaggravated his ankle which he had surgery on in May. Heโll be reevaluated in January.
The 46th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft appeared in nine games last season with the Hawks, tallying 14 points and seven rebounds in 52 total minutes. In the 2023-24 G-League regular season, Lundy played 12 games for the College Park Skyhawks, making 10 starts. He averaged 23.1 points, 3 assists and 6.6 rebounds, netting almost 42 percent of his 3s.
Lundy spent all four years of his college career at Penn State. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 10.5 points and 4.6 rebounds, making more than 36 percent of his 3-point attempts. He reached career totals of 1,283 points, 560 rebounds and 229 3s. He became the 39th player to reach 1,000 points and ranks sixth all-time in made 3-pointers.
As a senior, Lundy had a career year, averaging 14.2 points and 6.3 rebounds on 40 percent shooting from deep. He earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors and was a Big Ten All-Tournament Team member.
Lundy, alongside current Denver Nugget Jalen Pickett, led Penn State basketball to its first Big Ten Championship game in 12 years in 2023. That year, Penn State was a 10-seed and made it to the second round before losing to No. 5 Texas.
Days later, Penn Stateโs coach, Micah Shrewsberry, announced that he had accepted that Notre Dame job. Soon after, Penn State replaced Shrewsberry with Mike Rhoades.
