GLENDALE, ARIZONA– Penn State is two wins away from a national title.
With a 24-14 win over Boise State Tuesday night in Arizona, Penn State is moving onto the College Football Playoff semifinals.
The win also gives Penn State 13 on the season, the first time in school history it has reached that mark.
Boise State moved the ball well enough on its first possession to set up kicker Jonah Dalmas for a 45-yard field goal. He butchered it, and the game remained scoreless.
On the next drive, Penn State bullied Boise State with 55 rushing yards on six carries (9.2 YPC) and ended the scoring drive with a beautiful 11-yard TD pass from Drew Allar to Tyler Warren.
Allar did it again on the next drive, bombing a 38-yarder to Omari Evans to put Penn State ahead by two scores.
Boise State wouldn’t go away, though. An eight-yard TD run by somebody not named Ashton Jeanty– rather, Tyler Crowe– pushed the deficit back to one possession.
At the end of the first half, Penn State made it a double-digit game when Ryan Barker nailed a 40-yard field goal.

PSU got the ball to start the half but went three and out in less than a minute.
Then, Boise State cut the deficit to a field goal on a 58-yard pass from Maddux Madsen to Matt Lauter.
Penn State answered on its next possession, going back up by two possessions on a 13-yard pass from Allar to Warren. That reception gave Warren the most ever for a single season in Penn State history with 98. He surpassed Allen Robinson, who had 97 in 2013.
An interception by Zakee Wheatley– who recovered a fumble earlier in the game– effectively sealed the deal.
The true final nail on the coffin was a 59-yard run by Nicholas Singleton in the fourth quarter.
Penn State will now play the winner of Georgia and Notre Dame, who play in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
