The kickoff time for Penn State football’s Week Sept. 21 game against Kent State Sept. 21 at Beaver Stadium is set to kickoff at 3:30, the Big Ten Network announced early Monday afternoon.
This will be the first time Penn State has played a game that kicked off after noon.
The team’s 34-12 Week 1 win at West Virginia kicked off at noon on Fox, and the next week’s 34-27 win over Bowling Green in the home opener kicked off at noon on the Big Ten Network.
Penn State won’t be playing anybody this week.
The team’s first of two bye weeks in 2024 will culminate Saturday. The second one is scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 19, after Penn State’s showdown against USC in the Coliseum Oct. 12. As far as the days when Penn State isn’t off go, nothing has been set in stone. The Sept. 28 Big Ten opener against Illinois at home won’t be a noon kick but could start at either 3:30, 4 or 7:30. The next week, the team hosts UCLA for the first meeting between the two schools since UCLA started playing in the Big Ten this season.
Then comes Penn State’s clash with UCLA’s rival, USC, across the country.
Signs point to that game being a 3:30 kick.
Looks like Joel Klatt accidentally leaked that Ohio State at Oregon will be NBC’s night game for Week 7. Penn State plays at USC that week, and I doubt they make it a Big Noon game (would be a 9 a.m. local kick), so 3:30 on CBS seems likely for that matchup … I think? pic.twitter.com/xm7gbnC7OX

After the second bye week, Penn State will play its first game at Wisconsin’s Camp Randall Stadium since September 2021.
Then comes the showdown with Ohio State at Beaver Stadium, which will almost certainly be one of Fox’s “Big Noon” kicks.
After that is Penn State’s annual White Out game, which will be either a 3:30 or 7:30 kick against Washington. Then, Penn State wraps up its season with games at Purdue and Minnesota and at home against Maryland. None of those kickoff times have been set yet.
