Nittany Sports Now reached out to elite 2026 offensive lineman and major Penn State target Carter Scruggs.
With so many juniors making their college decisions early, we wanted to check in on Scruggs for an update on this recruitment and the teams that are making him a priority.
The 6’6″, 290-pound offensive tackle from Leesburg, Virginia received his latest offer on Tuesday evening from Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles. Prior to that, Scruggs received an offer from Lincoln Riley and USC.
Here’s an update on the current offer list for Scruggs- Penn State, Florida State, USC, Alabama, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina, NC State, Oregon, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Here are the major updates that Scruggs passed along this afternoon to NSN.
*He plans on doing game days this fall and has already scheduled ones to 1) Penn State for their Whiteout Game 2) Oklahoma vs. Maine 3) Clemson vs. Appalachian State. He plans on scheduling a couple more.
*Scruggs says that right now, the teams in contact with him the most are (in no order): Penn State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, Michigan, Georgia and NC State.
*The way things stand right now, he doesn’t plan on making a college decision anytime soon, “I think I want to start narrowing down my list by April or May next year”.

247 Sports currently ranks Scruggs as one of the Top 150 overall players in the Class of 2026 and one of the Top 10 interior linemen.
So far this calendar year, Scruggs has made two unofficial visits to State College, one in February and the most recent one in June.
Over the last two recruiting classes, Penn State has done an excellent job recruiting in the state of Virginia and would like to continue that with landing Scruggs.
