Nittany Lion Wrestling Club star Kyle Snyder is Team USA’s last hope at winning a Gold Medal.
So far, he’s doing what he needs to do at these Olympic Games.
After winning his first match in which Ohio State great came back from 4-0 down to win 9-5 over Chins Hablia Awusayiman, the 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist won 5-0, getting a fall over Cuba’s Arturo Silot Torres.
The first three minutes were slow, with Snyder going ahead 1-0 after Torres doesn’t score within the 30-second passivity window.
Less than 40 seconds into the next three minutes, Snyder got the fall.
Snyder will compete again this afternoon. If he doesn’t win Gold, this will be the first Olympics since 1968 in which the U.S. goes without Gold in wrestling since 1968.
