Penn State basketball’s top-rated signee in the 2024 recruiting class was seen at Tuesday’s media viewing window into practice with a sling on his right arm.
Plenty of people are excited about Miles Goodman, a top 100 overall Class of 2024 player who signed with Penn State in November.

But the fact that Goodman, for the time being at least, isn’t healthy is a concern.
The extent of Goodman’s injury isn’t clear, so there’s no telling yet whether this injury will affect him to the point where he misses time during the season, which is still more than three months away from kicking off.
If the 6-foot-11 center is healthy in time for the season, he’s a guy who coach Mike Rhoades feels could get significant minutes in Year 1.
Rhoades and company needed to find some big men to replace Qudus Wahab (out of eligibility) Demetrius Lilley and Favour Aire (transfer portal).
Over the offseason, Penn State signed Yanic Konan Niederhauser (Northern Illinois transfer) and Kachi Nzeh (Xavier transfer) in addition to locking down Goodman’s signature.
Rhoades talked about his bigs last month before Penn State’s annual Coaches vs. Cancer golf outing.
“With Yanic, Miles and Kachi, you know with those three guys there’s a lot of minutes out there for the guys to get,” Rhoades said. “I think they’re versatile big guys, all three of them are a little bit different, which is how I like it.”
It’s not yet known when Goodman was injured.
But it’s worth noting that, last week, he was pictured at Arts Fest in State College, and there was no sling in sight. That suggests that this injury was recent.
