Olu Fashanu, Penn State football’s best offensive linemen ever has heard his name called at the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fashanu was selected No. 11 overall in the first round by the New York Jets Thursday night. A first-team All-Big Ten selection by the conference coaches and media members, Fashanu was a dominant force on the Penn State offensive line that won the Rose Bowl in 2023 and a second-consecutive New Year’s Six Bowl this past season in the Peach Bowl.

Fashanu never allowed a sack in three seasons from 2021 to 2023 and only one QB hurry during the 2022 campaign. Standing at 6-foot-6 and 317 pounds from Waldorf, Maryland, Fashanu is known for his blocking abilities in the pass game and good footwork.
He became the 44th consensus All-American at Penn State and the first offensive lineman since Jeff Hartings (1995) 28 years ago. Fashanu was also dubbed a first-team All-American by CBS Sports, The Athletic, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, and became the first Penn State offensive lineman since A.Q. Shipley to earn multiple first-team All-American awards with PSU. A team MVP paired with fellow draft prospect Chop Robinson, Fashanu is one of the most decorated and talented offensive players of the James Franklin era.
Next Gen Stats graded him as the 3rd best tackle (85 grade) at the Scouting Combine and ran a 5.11 40-yard dash. Penn State finished the 2023 season 10-3 and he helped guide the team to a combined 28-11 record in three years and 21-5 over the last two seasons.
