Former Penn State tight end Mike Gesicki is once again on the move.
After one season in New England, Gesicki has signed a one-year deal worth up to $3.25 million with the Cincinnati Bengals. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo was first to report the deal.
Entering his sixth NFL season, the 28-year-old started 10 of the 17 games he played as a Patriot and caught 29 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns.
Gesicki played his first five seasons in Miami after being drafted in the 2nd round (42nd overall) by the Dolphins in 2018.
His two best seasons came in 2020 and 2021. Gesicki played 15 games during the Covid season and grabbed 53 passes for 703 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. Gesicki caught 20 more passes (73) the following year and broke his previous career high in yards (780) on 112 targets in 17 games. He totaled two touchdowns with 46 yards per game.
The 6-foot-6, 250-pound tight end spent four years at Penn State from 2014 to 2017. Gesicki caught 129 passes for 1,481 yards and 15 touchdowns, including a breakout 2017 campaign with nine touchdowns. That Penn State team defeated Washington 35-28 in the Fiesta Bowl.
