Saquon Barkley wasn’t a part of many winning teams in his six seasons with the New York Football Giants.
In his six seasons with New York, the team finished with a losing record in five.
The one outlier was in 2022, when the Giants finished 9-7-1 and made the playoffs.
But that season also ended in disappointment, with the Giants falling to the Eagles in Philly 38-7. Later, Barkley remembers being at a dinner with his family getting breakfast.
His daughter, Jada, saw a bird.
“No!” “No!” Barkley remembers her saying, as he explained on
Barkley then asked what was the matter.
“It’s the Eagles! It’s the Eagles!”
Saquon and his girlfriend, Anna, shared a laugh.
Last week, Barkley singed with the Eagles, and Jada, now five, had a reaction that will make a lot of people laugh.
“Does that mean we’re going to win now?” her dad remembers her asking.
“Hopefully,” Barkley responded. “Hopefully we’re going to win some more games.”
Since Barkley’s been in the NFL, the Eagles have made it to the postseason five times in six seasons, getting all the way to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2022 campaign.
Watch the Penn State legend tell the story in a car-interview released by the Eagles here.
