All 105 is a Nittany Sorts Now series profiling each Penn State football player. In this edition, we will be taking a look at third-year walk-on RB Amiel Davis.
Height: 6-feet
Weight: 207 pounds
Hometown: Vorhees, New Jersey
Before Penn State: Davis played at New Jersey’s Eastern Regional High School and was a two-time team MVP and senior captain. He played both sides of the ball, picking up 29 tackles (eight for loss) during his COVID-shortened 2020 senior year. As a junior, Davis ran for 100+ yards four times and ran for nine touchdowns, adding 47 tackles (five TFL) and a pick.
2021: Davis redshirted his first season and didn’t appear in any games.
2022: Davis also didn’t appear in any games but was named the coaching staff’s Developmental Squad Offensive Player of the Week leading up to the Ohio State game in late-October.
Where he stands: Running back is arguably the strongest position on Penn State’s team. Nicholas Singleton (1,061 yards, 12 touchdowns, 156 carries) and Kaytron Allen (867 yards, 10 touchdowns, 167 carries) are both back for and encore, and Penn State added veteran Trey Potts, formerly of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, through the transfer portal this spring. Penn State also has true freshmen in three-star Cam Wallace (Mt. Vernon, Georgia) and four-star London Montgomery (Scranton, Pennsylvania) also signed.
