PSU will play Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin exclusively at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The team won all three meetings with Illinois last season and beat Michigan by 22 at home.
Wisconsin, who survived in overtime, was the only team of the three that Penn State didn’t beat at the Bryce Jordan Center the past campaign.
Penn State will play Nebraska, Rutgers and Purdue on the road only. It lost to all three of those schools on the road last year.
The team will play Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Maryland, Minnesota, Northwestern and Ohio State twice. It won both meetings against Indiana this past season. One of which at the Bryce Jordan Center in one in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals. It beat Iowa at home on New Year’s Day. PSU also fell to Michigan State at the Jordan Center in its Big Ten opener this past December. Penn State split with Maryland and won its only meeting with Minnesota, which took place in Minneapolis. Like Indiana, Penn State beat Northwestern in the regular season and again in the Big Ten Tournament and also won its lone meeting with Ohio State, which took place in Columbus.
This will be the first season of a new era for Penn State basketball. The school hired former VCU head coach Mike Rhoades to succeed Micah Shrewsberry, who left for Notre Dame late last month. Thus far, Rhoades has landed four transfers, led by reigning A-10 Player of the Year Ace Baldwin, who played for him at VCU. The times and dates for these Big Ten games are to be determined. A more detailed announcement will likely come in September.
