Former Penn State standout wrestler Bo Nickal has signed a deal with Betr, the world’s first micro betting app.

The company is based in Ohio and was founded by Joey Levy and social media influencer and boxer Jake Paul.

Nickal will be the face of Betr Combat and he will have a mini embedded series working with Paul.

Nickal is set to make his UFC debut March 4 in Las Vegas at UFC 285 where he will be facing Jamie Pickett. Nickal announced this on the MMA Hour with Ariel Halwani. Nickal was supposed to face Pickett Dec. 10 at UFC 282, but Nickal withdrew from the card due to an injury and the fight got pushed back.

After he makes his debut, Nickal will be starting a podcast on the Betr Combat network that isn’t going to be about just talking, but it will be about meeting people, traveling the world and presumably training for upcoming fights while working with Betr.

Nickal was featured in Dana White contenders’ series twice last year. He rolled through both fights, beating Zachary Borrego via submission (rear-naked choke) Aug. 9 and winning against Donovan Beard, also by submission (triangle choke) Sept. 27. Nickal was a three -time national champion wrestler at Penn State. Bo Nickal was also the 2019 Big Ten Athlete of the Year and won the Hodge Trophy, which is wrestling’s version of the Heisman.

Nickal’s upcoming fight along with Paul’s social media influence Paul should certainly help make Betr get on the map. Nickal’s UFC debut also coincidences with the first day of this year’s Big Ten Wrestling Championships, which are scheduled for March 4-5 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

So it will be a fun weekend for Penn State wrestling fans.
