Update (12:44 p.m.): A Penn State athletics spokesperson released a statement to Nittany Sports Now:
“We are aware of these charges and take this matter seriously. Coach Lucas remains with the program. As this is a legal matter, we cannot comment further.”
Penn State assistant coach Jordan Lucas is facing DUI charges after an early-morning incident in downtown State College last month.
The charge came down Tuesday, Sept. 23, and stemmed from an incident that took place in Downtown State College Aug. 16.
At the time of the incident, Lucas had a Blood Alcohol Concentration level that was more than double Pennsylvania’s legal limit of 0.08%.

The vehicle had two flats, and the affidavit states street cameras caught it weaving into the Beaver Avenue bus lane before stopping in the cross walk.
He’s being charged with two DUI misdemeanors plus summary counts for driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle and parking in a crosswalk.
Lucas played defensive back at Penn State from 2012-2015. From there, he played in the NFL for six seasons, highlighted by a Super Bowl ring with the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs. He’s currently listed as an assistant linebackers coach.
Lucas’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m.
