Carter (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) was a three-star recruit out of Clayton High School in Clayton High School in Clayton, North Carolina.
Carter caught 25 passes for 406 yards and two touchdowns for the Wolfpack this past season. He’s tallied 118 receptions for 1,906 yards and ten touchdowns in his career at NC State.
With the addition of Carter, he would fill a major need for Penn State with a receiver with size and a veteran presence with one year of eligibility remaining. Carter can box out defenders as well as get the 50-50 balls that is required in Big Ten action.
Penn State has been looking for options at wide receiver in the transfer portal with the departures of Mitchell Tinsley and Parker Washington and now they have a veteran presence in the room for presumed starter Drew Allar.
