Report: Graham Harrell Leaving WVU for OC Role with Purdue

In somewhat shocking news, West Virginia offensive coordinator Graham Harrell will be leaving the program to take on the same role at Purdue.

This story was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. Harrell will end his WVU tenure after just one season. Despite a strong offensive start to the 2022 season and Harrell helping lure quarterback JT Daniels with him to West Virginia, the Mountaineers failed to win enough and Daniels eventually lost his starting job as the offense struggled.Prior to coming to Morgantown, Harrell spent three seasons as offensive coordinator at USC.

Harrell has also served as OC at North Texas, outside wide receivers coach at Washington State and an offensive quality control assistant with Oklahoma State. He played quarterback at Texas Tech under the late Mike Leach and then carried his “Air Raid” offensive style with him in coaching career, although Harrell has argued he runs more of a balanced attack.

After college, Harrell spent time in both the NFL and CFL.
