Here are our staff’s predictions for Saturday’s game between Penn State and Indiana.
Alan Saunders: Will there be an Ohio State hangover, and will the negativity associated with two losses in three weeks carry over into a place PSU has been tripped up while sleepwalking before? The Hoosiers are not good at all, so even a mediocre performance by the Lions should get the job done.
PSU 28, IU 10
Mike Asti: Indiana is just what the doctor ordered for Penn State. The Nittany Lions should take care of a struggling Indiana team, regardless who is at quarterback. The Hoosiers have allowed 30 or more points to 4 of their last 5 opponents. This should be another such occasion.
PSU 35, IU 14
Logan Carney: Penn State is a clear step below Ohio State and Michigan. Keeping it close and then blowing the fourth quarter against Ohio State doesn’t impress me when that’s been the script of the series over the last decade or so. In fact, I said that’s what would happen in last week’s prediction. Regardless, Penn State should have no problem putting away 3-5 Indiana. The Big 10 behind the two blue bloods is weak. Even though Penn State is included in that group, its probably the best of the bunch and should win out the rest of the way. Even after an 11-11 record in a two-year span, anything less than 10 wins this year will be a disappointment. Penn State should win this one and win it easily.
Penn State 35, Indiana 10
Jarrod Prugar: This is far from the trap game Minnesota was, but it’s an interesting one nonetheless. I expect to see both Sean Clifford and Drew Allar in action as Penn State hits the road for the first time in weeks. Penn State will struggle in the first quarter before pouring it on in the final three.
Penn State 49, Indiana 14
Joe Smeltzer: This is the perfect set up for Penn State to get a lopsided win. Indiana is bad. Penn State has beaten every team it was supposed to beat this season. Indiana is 2-23 against Penn State in a series that dates back to 1993. Even the weather, which is often an asset for the underdog, plays against Indiana. The game will be played under a wind advisory, which means Indianas offense, which is fourth in the Big Ten in passing yards and dead last in rushing yards, will have a hard time doing what it does best.

Penn State, on the other hand, can run the ball with freshmen studs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen. Indiana has allowed 100-yard rushers in six of seven games against FBS teams. Penn State by a lot.
Indiana has allowed 100-yard rushers in 6 of 7 FBS games and has surrendered 7 runs of 30+ yards this year, more than any other B1G team. Sounds like an opportunity for Nick Singleton to break one.
