The 6-foot-9 Booth is the son of current Denver Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth, who played at Penn State from 1995-99. He is the Number four prospect in New Hampshire, the No 15 power forward, and the No. 90 prospect in the country, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
He is the second highest-ranked basketball prospect in school history, only behind Tony Carr in the class of 2016.
What Booth would bring to the table is a power forward capable of playing right away. Penn State currently has true freshman big men Kebbe Njie and Demetrius Lilly in the program, but they are better suited as centers as Booth is more of a natural power forward. If Seth Lundy doesn’t return for a fifth season at Penn State, that leaves Booth as the only power forward on the roster for the 2023-2024 season.
According to Adam Finkelstein, director of basketball scouting for 247Sports, he is a prospect that has long-term stock, he may not be ready to dominate at the college level yet, but he can contribute right away because he can space the floor, and he has high basketball IQ.
Booth has the size and skill, but he needs to get stronger to handle the rigors of playing the physical Big Ten brand of basketball, however, his long-term prospects project for him to have a high ceiling.
