In Week Four of the NFL season, two former Penn State standout running backs led the way with their performances this past weekend. Saquon Barkley and Miles Sanders each eclipsed over 100 yards, leading their respective teams to wins on Sunday.
Saquon Barkley
Barkley is making a clear case for being NFL comeback Player of the Year by rushing for 146 yards on 31 carries in the New York Giants’ 20-12 win over the Chicago Bears. He is the leading rusher in the NFL after Week Four.
Miles Sanders
Sanders rushed for 134 yards on 27 carries and scored two touchdowns in torrential conditions as he helped the Philadelphia Eagles to a 29-21 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is currently third in the NFL in rushing behind Barkley and Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns.
Jahan Dotson
Dotson recorded three catches for 43 yards and caught a touchdown in the Washington Commanders’ 25-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He leads all rookie receivers in a touchdown with four. Dotson suffered a hamstring injury during the game and is expected to miss some time.
Pat Freiermuth
Although he had a pass go off his hands for the interception that led to the New York Jets scoring the game-winning touchdown, Freiermuth was a consistent target for Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. He caught seven passes for 85 yards in the Steelers’ 24-10 loss.
Chris Godwin
Godwin recorded seven catches for 59 yards receiving in his first game action since Week One.
Jaquan Brisker
Brisker recorded five tackles and a sack for the Bears in their loss to the Giants. The rookie safety has recorded 25 tackles so far this season.
