Nickal (1-0), who won his first pro fight June 3, knocking out John Noland in 33 seconds, is fighting Zachary Borrego (4-0) in what’s now a catchweight bout as part of UFC boss Dana White’s contender series in a quest to earn a contract from MMA’s flagship organization.
The Penn State legend weighed in at 186 pounds, meeting the requirement. Borrego weighed in at 187.5 pounds, missing weight by 1.5 pounds.
The fight is still on, but Borrego will have to take a fine that will come out of his purse.
Tuesday’s event is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m.
