London Montgomery, a three-star Class of 2023 athlete out of Scranton, Pennsylvania has announced that he will make his commitment on July 11, and Penn State is in his top three.
Penn State is in the running along with Boston College and Virginia tech for the commitment of Montgomery.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back out of Scranton Prep High School has had 19 offers from schools including Arizona State, Army, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Connecticut, Iowa, James Madison, Louisville, UMass, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio, Old Dominion, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Western Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Montgomery is the number seven recruit in Pennsylvania, the No. 29 running back in the nation, and the No. 429 recruit in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports composite rankings. Montgomery has an On3.com NIL value of $16,000. He made an unofficial visit in April and his official visit on the weekend of June 17.
Montgomery talked to RutgersWire about his recent visit to Penn State and this is what he has to say.
“Me and Penn State, I mean we just continue to build our relationship. I have a very strong relationship with the coaches over there.”
If Montgomery were to commit to Penn State, he would be the first running back from the Class of 2023 to commit to Penn State. He would join Lamont Payne, Jameial Lyons, Joey Schlaffer, J’Ven Williams, and Yazeed Haynes as in-state recruits in the class of 2023.
