Penn State’s secondary will be losing a huge piece with Jaquan Brisker set to go to the NFL in 2022.
But the other half of arguably America’s best safety tandem will be back in State College next season.
Ji’Ayir Brown, who accounted for 1/3 of Penn State’s interceptions in the regular season with four, tweeted his intent to come back for a fifth year of college football Tuesday afternoon.

“I am confident with my decision to remain at Penn State alongside my brothers for another year,” Brown wrote. “I look forward to learning, growing and developing more as a player, a student and a man.”
Brown started his college football career at Lackawanna Community College, where he played the 2018 and ‘19 seasons. He made his Penn State debut in 2020 and appeared in all nine games. This season, his performance earned him a third-team All-Big Ten selection.
“We have work to do,” Brown wrote at the end of his statement. “Let’s get to it!”
