Clifford Leaves Game late in 1st quarter

Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford has left Penn State’s game against Rutgers with an apparent injury.

Amid speculation of coming down with a campus-wide flu bug, the fifth-year senior started and played through Penn State’s first four possessions, going 2-8 for 23 yards. At the end of Penn State’s most recent possession, Clifford came off the field gingerly after a run for no-gain and soon went into the injury tent, and then the locker room. Christian Veilleux is now in at QB for the Nittany Lions.

UPDATE: Veilleux still in at quarterback on the Lions’ first second half possession.

UPDATE: Clifford did not return.
