Penn State-Iowa Game Time is Announced for Key Cross-Division Big 10 Matchup

No. 6 Penn State defeated a solid FCS team in Villanova, 38-17, Saturday, and the Nittany Lions can’t look too far ahead with Indiana on the schedule next, but a huge cross-division Big 10 contest looms in two weeks.

A battle of Top 10 teams will take place between the Lions and No. 5 Iowa in two weeks, and we now know that the game will take place at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 9 with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on FOX for those who can’t make the trek to Iowa City.

The Hawkeyes are currently playing Colorado State and will face off against a solid Maryland team next week, but both Penn State and Iowa could very well be 5-0 rolling into what could potentially be a Top 4 matchup should some teams above them in the AP Poll lose either this week or next.

A loss from either side likely wouldn’t eliminate the loser from Big 10 championship aspirations, but a victory would definitely catapult the winning team firmly into the Top 4 and provide an in-conference boost. Penn State is currently tied for the lead in the B1G-East and Iowa in the B1G-West, but both schools have only played one conference game.
