Penn State’s Two 4-Star RB Commitments Off to Strong Starts

Graphic from Nicholas Singleton Twitter

Having two 4-star running backs in a recruiting class is something most teams aren’t lucky enough to achieve but it is the case for James Franklin and Penn State.

Currently, the Nittany Lions No. 2 Class of 2022 includes commitments from 4-star running back Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen.

Singleton (6-feet, 210 pounds) is from Reading, Pennsylvania and is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 1 running back in the Class of 2022.

He committed to Penn State back on July 6 over other offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, Pitt, Tennessee, USC, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Allen (5-foot-11, 220 pounds) attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 13 back and one of the Top 150 seniors in the country. Allen gave his commitment to Penn State back on July 16.

As is the case with Penn State 4-star quarterback commitment Drew Allar both Singleton and Allen are off to strong starts in their final season of high school action.

Allen’s IMG Academy team pounded LaSalle (Cincinnati, Ohio) and he was a big part of their success as he rushed for 194 yards and four touchdowns. In his team’s first game of the season, Allen rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns.
