In today’s college sports’ landscape with the transfer portal, there has been a lot of reshuffling on team’s rosters. There is not so much a plan of developing young players anymore, it’s more of needing “plug-and-play” players for that particular season.
The Penn State men’s basketball program has had its share of reshuffling within the past year.
Below is an update as to where the PSU players transferred to and who are the current Nittany Lions for the upcoming 2026 season.
Where are they now?
- Melih Tunca – Reportedly, went back to his home country of Turkey to compete.
- Freddie Dilione V. – Transferred to Georgia.
- Mason Blackwood – Transferred to St. Bonaventure.
- Eli Rice – Transferred to Middle Tennessee State.
- Kayden Mingo – Transferred to Baylor.
- Dominick Stewart – Transferred to Richmond.
- Justin Houser – Transferred to Florida Gulf Coast
- Tibor Mirtic – Has not signed anywhere yet…could come back to State College.
- Sasa Ciani – Has not signed anywhere yet…could come back to State College.
This offseason, Penn State has done a good job replenishing its roster with talented, mostly veteran players.
The current 2026-2027 Nittany Lion Hoopsters
- Ivan Juric – The 7-foot Croatian sophomore re-signed with Penn State after a very productive freshman season averaging 10.2 points and 5.3 rebounds in 26.4 minutes played per game..
- Chris Lotito – 6′-7″ sophomore forward who was a walk-on during his freshman year at PSU and only appeared in four games.
- Reggie Grodin – 6′-5″ sophomore guard who was a medical redshirt last season for PSU.
- Francois Wibaut – a 21-year old, 6′-6″ small forward from Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France who played professionally for Pau-Orthez (Pro B) and averaged 8.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 19.8 minutes played per contest.
- Roko Prkacin – 23-year old Roko Prkacin from Zagreb, Croatia, who was once viewed as a potential NBA draft lottery pick. The 6-foot-9 forward has played for the Croatian national team and most recently played professionally in France for Nanterre, averaging 6.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game in 23 games.
- Jay Rodgers – 6’-3” senior point guard from Pickerington, Ohio who played for the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils of the Northeastern Conference (NEC) the past four seasons (2022-26). Averaged 11.0 points, 6.9 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 42.6% from the field.
- Brant Byers – The 6′-8″ junior shooting guard from Miami (OH) averaged last season 14.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 34 games played and was Second Team All-MAC.
- Robert Blums – A 6′-4″ junior shooting guard from Riga, Lativa who averaged 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 45.6% from the field and 40.7% from three for Davidson College last year.
- Tim Oboh – The 6′-11 center from London, England played his last two seasons with the Buffalo Bulls of the Mid-Atlantic Conference and has two years of eligibility remaining. Last season he averaged 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 61.1% from the field.
- Thomas Allard – The 6′-7″, 210 lb. junior from the University of Alabama in Huntsville averaged 13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Chargers last season.
- Andy Gemao – The 6′-2″ point guard from Manila, Philippines played his senior year of high school basketball for the Royal Crown School in Toronto, Canada.
- Grant Spacciapolli – 6′-3″ guard out of Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania announced on his Instagram account on April 5, 2026 his verbal commitment to the Nittany Lions, but has not yet officially signed.
