Kayden Mingo, starting freshman point guard on the Penn State men’s basketball team, has entered the transfer portal, per Jonathan Givony of Draft Express.
These will be big shoes to fill for the Nittany Lions as Mingo was Penn State’s highest-rated recruit in program history and he showed why on the court this past season.
He started in all 28 games he played in and finished the year averaging 13.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
This also means that his younger brother, Dylan, who is one of the top high school prospects in America, will not change his mind and want to play for Penn State either.
Mingo is the fifth Nittany Lion from last year’s team that has decided to enter the portal.
Earlier, Melih Tunca, Freddie Dilione V., Mason Blackwood and Eli Rice have all entered the transfer portal as well.
