Is Penn State Trending for Top-20 PA Prospect Ryan Robbins?

Ryan Clanton meets with the media - Joe Smeltzer

Penn State has been building momentum in the Class of 2027, hovering around the Top 10 nationally across the major recruiting services.

Could the Nittany Lions be closing in on another commitment?

Upper St. Clair (Pa.) offensive lineman Ryan Robbins appears to be nearing the end of his recruitment, and Penn State is firmly in the mix.

The three-star prospect recently told Mike Vukovcan that his recruitment is likely down to three schools.

“Yeah, I’m definitely nearing the end of my recruitment with my final schools being Penn State, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech,” Robbins told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I have all three of those schools set for official visits, but I might be committed before then!”

Robbins has official visits scheduled to Virginia Tech on May 29, Penn State on June 5, and Ohio State on June 12.

Of those three finalists, Penn State has received the most in-person attention from Robbins. He has already made five unofficial visits to Happy Valley, a sign of how strong the connection appears to be between the Nittany Lions and one of Pennsylvania’s top prospects.

At 6’7″  and 280 pounds, Robbins brings intriguing size and upside at offensive tackle. His length and frame make him an especially attractive developmental prospect as he continues to add strength and refine his game.

Penn State also appears to have the recruiting industry on its side. 247Sports, On3, and Rivals each heavily favor the Nittany Lions to land Robbins’ commitment.

If those projections prove accurate, Penn State could soon add another major in-state piece to what is shaping up to be an impressive 2027 recruiting class.
