CLEVELAND, Ohio — The top two teams at this year’s NCAA Wrestling Championships have been Penn State and Oklahoma State.
Penn State has piled up 153 points through two days and could potentially produce eight medalists. Oklahoma State, meanwhile, has surged into second place behind its standout freshman class, as Jax Forrest, Cody Merrill, Sergio Vega and Landon Robideau all advanced to Saturday’s finals. The Cowboys have amassed 111.5 points to lead the chase pack.
No other team has topped 100 points. Nebraska sits in third place with 90.5, Iowa is fourth with 81, and Ohio State rounds out the top five with 77.5.
Penn State will send six wrestlers into Saturday night’s championship finals: Luke Lilledahl, Shayne Van Ness, Mitchell Mesenbrink, Levi Haines, Rocco Welsh and Josh Barr.
