Singleton, who is from the Reading area, became one of the most productive backs in PSU history.
By the end of his career, Singleton was fourth all-time on the school’s rushing list and accomplished this while splitting carries with Kaytron Allen for all four years.
Singleton also holds the school record for rushing touchdowns (45) and total touchdowns (54), breaking both marks, previously held by Saquon Barkley, during his last game against Rutgers in late November.
Singleton went out with a bang, torching Rutgers for 183 total yards in a 40-36 win that ensured bowl eligibility for Penn State.
Singleton started his Penn State career in 2022 and almost immediately became a fixture in Penn State’s offense.
In Singleton’s Beaver Stadium debut, he torched the Ohio for 179 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries. It was off to the races from there. Singleton eclipsed 1,000 yards in his true freshman season and repeated that feat in 2024, when he had a career-high 1,099 yards.
The NFL Mock Draft database has Singleton going in the third round, which would likely make him one of the top backs taken. Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN ranks Singleton as his No. 6 back, just behind Allen, who is No. 5.
Singleton became more than just a running back over his time at Penn State, ending his college career with almost 1,000 receiving yards and 1,138 return yards, plus a kickoff return for a touchdown against Rutgers in 2022. He is a school’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards.
With the NFL Combine weeks away, it’s hard to see Singleton being able to work out. Penn State’s Pro Day will be in mid-March, so that seems like a more realistic timetable.
