University Park, PA — On the same drive in which senior Kaytron Allen passed Evan Royster (2007–10) to become Penn State’s all-time leading rusher, he added even more history to his résumé.
With Penn State leading 30–10 in the fourth quarter, Allen scored from 13 yards out to extend the advantage to four possessions, a touchdown that also tied him with a Nittany Lion legend.
Allen’s second score of the day was the 38th rushing touchdown of his career, pulling him even with Lydell Mitchell (1969–71) for third place on Penn State’s all-time rushing touchdown list.
Mitchell still holds the program’s single-season rushing touchdown record with 26, a mark that tied the NCAA record at the time and stood until Oklahoma State’s Barry Sanders broke it in 1988.
Allen now trails co-leaders Saquon Barkley (2015–17) and Nick Singleton (2022–present), who share the top spot with 43 career rushing touchdowns each. Singleton pulled even with Barkley by scoring his second touchdown of the first half against Nebraska.
