In recruiting news, Penn State has lost one of its Class of 2026 commits to a prominent SEC program.
Monday morning, four-star receiver Jahsiear Rogers announced that he had committed to Oklahoma.
He picked OU over Alabama, Indiana, Nebraska and others.
A star at Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, Delaware, Rogers is the No. 1 player in the state, along with the No. 52 receiver in the country and the No. 330 overall player. He had been committed to Penn State in July and also had offers from schools such as Alabama, Nebraska, Indiana, North Carolina, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
“Oklahoma is just a place built for football players,” Rogers told Steve Wiltfong of Rivals.
“It’s a football town. Out there you’re going to be focused and ready to go every day.”
“Just the rich history they got of putting great receivers in the league and just the program and coaching staff,” Rogers explained. “It’s a family atmosphere over there.”
Penn State knew it would have a recruiting fallout after firing James Franklin earlier this month. Within hours, the entire Class of 2027 had decommitted. In the 2026 Class, 18 players remained committed, although several— including the top-rated commit, four-star safety Matt Sieg of Fort Cherry High School in the Pittsburgh Area— have opened up their recruitment while still being committed.
Sieg is a big player for Penn State to hold onto, as are fellow PA prospects Kevin Brown (Harrisburg) and Jackson Ford (Malvern Prep), Terry Wiggins (Coatesville), David Davis (Pittsburgh) and Tavian Branch (Taylor).
