The Penn State football program is holding their annual Lasch Bash festivities and received a future commitment from an up-and-coming player.
2026 3-star wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers from Middletown, Delaware announced on Twitter his commitment to the Penn State football program. Rogers (5’11”, 160-pounds) becomes the 3rd member of Penn State’s Class of 2026, joining 4-star running back Messiah Mickens and 4-star quarterback Troy Huhn.
Rogers didn’t waste any time sitting on the offer from Penn State, just having received it back on June 14th. Penn State and Indiana were Roger’s first two Power Four offers.
Following his big decision, Nittany Sports Now spoke with Rogers, who’s thrilled with his decision.
“Today was a very emotional day in the best way possible,” said Rogers. “A lot of happy emotions as I get to help my family out and take a load off of them. They don’t have to worry about paying for my college education.”
”I’m extremely excited that a university like this one was willing to give me a chance. The family vibe that the Penn State coaches give off and that I feel is really amazing. Overall, I’m extremely excited and I really can’t wait”
Rogers was the first commitment that Penn State received this weekend and it was a decision that came easy to Rogers.
“The love that I was receiving from the entire coaching staff and community. Also, Penn State checks off a lot of boxes that were very important in my recruiting.”
“I had a feeling (about committing) but I was going to play things out and see how they went but when I got there, I fell in love even more. My heart told me it was the right thing to do,” said Rogers.
I’m so glad this guy is on my team this year. Great person and great teammate. Get your popcorn ready. It’s going to be a great show. Let’s go Jags! #DynamicDuo @AppoFootball @JAHTOSHIFTY3X pic.twitter.com/2NQRZzs6dX

I wrapped up my talk with Rogers by asking him to let the Penn State fans and coaches the type of player and person that they just got.
”Penn State fans , you’re getting the hardest worker in the room. I love football, I love the grind, I love competition, I love getting better, I love the game and I’m determined to be the best and make a way to provide for my family.”
