Can Penn State use an impressive showing in the annual White Out on September 27 against Oregon to bolster its chances with the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2027?
It certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Kingwood (Humble, Texas) offensive tackle Kennedy Brown has added Penn State to his visit itinerary taking in one of college football’s greatest spectacles.
Penn State is one of 50 schools to offer Brown and his travel itinerary has already included Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Clemson, and Penn State’s White Out opponent Oregon.
Brown marvels at the job Phil Trautwein has done to make Penn State a destination for top offensive lineman.
“They produce great offensive lineman – the top offensive linemen in the country year in and year out. I love that,” Brown said via On3Sports.
Scouts marvel over Brown’s frame and the length he possesses, where they feel he has a lot of room to grow. The high end projection for Brown is a potential elite left tackle prospect with his ability to be fluid out of his stance and his point of attack whether in pass protection or run blocking is elite.
If Penn State can become a serious contender for Brown’s commitment, it could be a monster 2027 class with the nation’s No. 1 McKeesport (McKeesport, PA) running back Kemon Spell already committed, along with Pine Richland (Gibsonia, PA) wide receiver Khalil Taylor, and the nation’s No. 5 tackle, per 247Sports Composite, Layton Von Brandt from Appoquinimink (Middletown, Delaware).
