While James Franklin continues to seek help at linebacker for the 2025 season, he is shoring up the future with news of Terry Wiggins committing to Penn State.
The four-star linebacker from Coatesville Area (Coatesville, PA) is rated by 247Sports as the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Pennsylvania for the Class of 2026 and rated the No. 26 overall linebacker nationally in 247Sports Composite.
Wiggins said after his visit to the 2025 Blue-White Game “I loved it, I loved everything that I saw. Especially with Coach Knowles telling me like, what the goal is and what the objective is for the defense… With forcing everything to the Linebackers.”
“It really like made me think like ‘ok, so if I go there, I’m going to be making plays and getting my name out there.’”
Wiggins then discussed his other interactions with the staff, “I got to talk to Coach (Dan) Connor, Coach Shane (Eachus), Coach Franklin. I got to talk to all of those guys. The talks were amazing with them and they always are, so that’s something that I always look forward to whenever I’m going up there.”
Wiggins projects to be an impact linebacker at all phases. His 6’3” 210 pound frame allows the versatility to play on the line of scrimmage and fleet of foot to drop back into coverage. Wiggins fluidity in his ability to read and react to a play with a great first step makes him coveted.
For Penn State, Wiggins is the 14th overall commitment and seventh four-star commitment for 247Sports No. 5 overall recruiting class of 2026.
